SPG Partners with Vertafore to Accelerate Submissions and Boost Efficiency

Specialty Program Group LLC selects Vertafore’s Surefyre platform to create a modern digital experience for its retail agencies and boost operational efficiency for its partners. The move streamlines underwriting and accelerates quoting capabilities for the leading insurance specialty and wholesale brokerage. The integration of Surefyre—an AI-enabled, low-code/no-code agent portal and underwriting workbench—provides SPG with the innovation and scalability it needs, backed by Vertafore, a key partner in insurance technology. Surefyre is specifically built for managing general agents (MGAs) and wholesalers. It enables seamless experiences for the rating, quoting, and application processes for property and casualty (P&C) business across various systems. MGAs and wholesalers that use the platform are seeing time savings of up to 2.5 hours per policy issued. “Working with Vertafore has given us the power to build a true technology ecosystem that can simplify complex processes, remove friction for our teams, and create a better experience for our clients. Adding Surefyre is the next step in creating a platform that will scale with us,” says Maryellen Dolan, chief operating officer at SPG. “And what stands out to us is that Vertafore isn't just a technology provider, they're a partner invested in our long-term success”. Key Integrations and AI Focus A key requirement for SPG was a tool that would integrate smoothly with its core systems, AIM™ and ImageRight®, while also establishing a foundation for future AI-enabled capabilities. SPG plans to leverage the current and upcoming AI capabilities within Surefyre to benefit its long-term success. The platform's AI-powered features simplify the submission and risk selection process. Vertafore is expanding Surefyre’s AI functionality by adding new tools, including a PDF-to-webform conversion tool to quickly create new digital submission forms, which is available later this year. Additionally, AI-powered ingestion of unstructured submissions data becomes available in 2026. “As we looked to the future of our operations, AI was a key factor in our technology decision,” states Elizabeth Thimme, SPG’s vice president of digital strategy and implementation. “Surefyre not only simplifies submissions today, it gives us confidence that we'll be ready for new efficiencies powered by AI in the years ahead”. Vertafore is the top technology partner for MGAs and wholesalers, serving more organisations than any other InsurTech. The company notes that 85% of the top 20 US MGAs, by premium, trust its solutions. Emily McGinn, general manager of MGA and wholesale at Vertafore, says, “Our partnership with SPG shows what's possible when technology and market leaders invest in the future together”. She adds that the combined platform of Surefyre, AIM, and ImageRight will “enable SPG to accelerate its operations today and to take full advantage of Vertafore's AI innovation leadership to work faster, smarter, and with more confidence”.
