AIA Appoints Ben Ng as Group Chief Risk Officer

AIA Group has appointed Ben Ng as its new Group Chief Risk Officer, effective January 1, 2026, following regulatory approval. He will also join the Group Executive Committee on October 1, 2025, and be based in Hong Kong. Ng, who joined AIA in 2011, has held several senior leadership roles across various markets, including serving as Chief Executive Officer for both AIA Malaysia and Indonesia. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. AIA Group Chief Executive and President, Lee Yuan Siong, praised Ng's extensive leadership experience and understanding of risk management, noting these qualities make him well-suited for the role. Ng will succeed Jayne Plunkett, who has served as Group Chief Risk Officer since 2019 and will retire on January 1, 2026. Lee expressed gratitude for Plunkett's dedication, stating she transformed the company's risk management capabilities and helped shape its strategy. Ng stated he is "honoured to be entrusted with this role" and looks forward to working with colleagues to reinforce the company's strong risk culture. Plunkett called it a "privilege to serve AIA" and expressed confidence in the company's future.
