Arch announces Martins as Head of Executive Assurance for France

Arch Insurance (EU) dac (AIEU) — a provider of specialist property and casualty insurance solutions within the European Union — has appointed Julien Martins as its head of executive assurance for France, joining from AXA XL. In this newly created role, Martins will be responsible for the development of AIEU’s executive assurance portfolio, the writing of directors and officers coverage for commercial clients, financial institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to specialist blended coverage for select sectors. Martins is described as a “prominent figure” in the French insurance market, with technical underwriting experience across both financial and casualty lines. Prior to joining AIEU, he spent time at AXA as regional product leader casualty APAC and Europe, as well as various underwriting roles at Liberty Specialty Markets and XL Catlin. Matthew Brophy, chief underwriting officer at AIEU, says the appointment “marks the next phase in our product expansion within France, following the successful launch of our cyber and casualty portfolios”. He adds: “Julien’s reputation, deep market knowledge, and strength of broker relationships ideally position us to support our clients locally.”
