Aon has announced the launch of its enhanced event analytics platform, designed to provide integrated hazard, exposure, and loss data via a single interface, intended to support reinsurers' catastrophe response, before, during, and after an event. The solution is said to be capable of real-time loss estimates from Impact Forecasting’s automated event response service, with mapping tools to visualise the footprint of events, in conjunction with customised reports tailored to stakeholder needs. Moreover, insurers are able to use the platform to recast historical natural catastrophes in order to assess their impacts on current portfolios, with the approach said to drive “better reserving decisions” in addition to “improving claims efficiency”. According to Aon’s global catastrophe recap first half of 2025 report, the event analytics solutions launch follows the approximately US$100 billion in insured losses during said period, which the company says “reinforces the need for reinsurers to quickly respond and manage the cost of catastrophes”. Global head of event response for Risk Capital, Dan Hartung, believes “insurers are under pressure to make decisions with speed and precision, but fragmented data sources often slow down decision-making”. He adds that the event analytics platform “is designed to support reinsurers through all phases of global catastrophes,” and that it will help them to “quantify and respond to the effects of high-impact events”.
