HDI Global has announced the appointment of three executives to its ESG risk solutions division, which the company says will aid the roll out of its product on an international scale. Manchester-based Chris Strong has been appointed head of ESG risk solutions, and will report to Mark Appleton, head of liability underwriting global, and will be responsible for the worldwide portfolio. Joining from WTW, Strong brings with him over two decades of experience in environmental liability, most recently holding the position of environmental practice leader. He says: “I’m really excited to be joining this brand new HDI team and can’t wait to help grow our presence as a global leader in ESG risk solutions.” Furthermore, Thordis Jensen, based in Cologne, joins from her previous role as senior broker at AON, and will assume responsibility for all markets outside Europe, bringing extensive experience from both insurance broking and underwriting to her new position as head of ESG risk solutions international. Jensen says she is “thrilled to join HDI Global as a change-maker, leading efforts to help businesses shape a more sustainable future through ESG-driven underwriting and advisory strategies that align risk with responsibility”. Joining them is Paris-based Ludovic Ruiller, who will serve as head of ESG solutions Europe, and will head up the growth of the French portfolio as lead underwriter. He brings extensive experience in environmental liability underwriting from his previous position as head of environmental France at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. Ruler believes: “The international expansion of our environmental product, combined with the launch of our market-leading social and governance extensions, marks a major step forward for HDI Global, our clients and broker partners.” Both Jensen and Ruiller will report to Strong.
