HDI Global has announced Nikita Tikhonov as its new head of Marine Global Risk, who will oversee a team of five working on HDI Global’s Marine value proposition. He succeeds Felix Cassau, who has opted to take on new challenges at Hannover Re, and will report to Dr Carsten Schulte, head of Marine underwriting. Tikhonov says he is “very grateful and truly excited for this opportunity to guide our Marine Global Risk Hubs towards our vision of underwriting excellence.” He started his career as a marine and property underwriter in Russia, before joining HDI Global in 2018. His initial duties were establishing and developing a new portfolio in both marine cargo, in addition to accident and health insurance, and the experience garnered from which, HDI Global says, will aid in supporting local underwriters in branch offices globally. Dr Schulte reports he is “very pleased to have Nikita Tikhonov taking over the role as head of Marine Global Risk. Nikita brings strong expertise, energy, and a fresh perspective to the role.”
