HDI Global has reported positive results for the first half of 2025, with an increase in both revenue and net income. They attribute the main driver behind these results to a growth in new business. Adjusted for currency effects, HDI’s insurance revenue rose 8 per cent, to €5.1 billion, from €4.8 billion during the same six-month period in 2024. Their insurance service result remained stable at €430 million, with their large loss payments coming in at €142 million — a figure the firm says was well below the pro rata budget of €253 million. Dr Edgar Puls, CEO of HDI Global SE, says he is “particularly pleased that our positive half-year results have been driven primarily by growth of new business.” Their net insurance, financial, and investment results, before currency effects, rose to €99 million from €68 million, due to a higher volume of investment, in addition to an increase in current interest income HDI’s earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were lifted by 24 percentage points to €377 million from a figure of €305 million, with their return on equity also rising to 17.4 per cent, from 15.7 per cent.
