Aon appoints Laing and Moore to new leadership roles

Aon has announced two senior promotions within its Reinsurance leadership team, with Andrew Laing named UK CEO for Reinsurance, and Rupert Moore taking on the role of CEO of Reinsurance for Asia Pacific. Laing will continue to serve as Aon’s global facultative CEO — a position he has held since 2016 — and remain based in London. His appointment as UK CEO is subject to regulatory approval. Moore, who has led Aon’s UK Reinsurance business for the past three years, will relocate to Singapore later this year as part of his new remit. In addition to his APAC CEO position, he will serve as chairman of the region for Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group, advising APAC CEO Jennifer Richards on advancing the firm’s Risk Capital strategy for Japan. Moore previously served as CEO of Reinsurance in Japan for five years. The moves are part of Aon’s wider efforts to help insurance clients optimise capital, navigate volatility and drive sustainable growth across key global markets. Commenting on the appointments, Alfonso Valera, CEO of international for Reinsurance at Aon, says: “Andrew and Rupert have combined decades of experience in the (re)insurance marketplace and a proven ability to achieve long-term sustainable growth while shaping better business decisions on behalf of clients.” He adds: “Following the recent leadership promotions within Reinsurance, these additional appointments will continue to accelerate the ambition and velocity of our industry-leading Reinsurance business to drive client value.”
