HDI Global reshapes long tail leadership with new appointments

HDI Global has confirmed two senior leadership appointments within its long tail segment, as the corporate and specialty insurer continues to align its European liability underwriting and technical services with long-term strategic goals. Effective 1 November 2025, Dennis Siebrasse will assume the role of head of liability underwriting for Europe, while Dr Pascal Nef joins the firm as head of technical and strategic services — long tail. Both will report to Dr Mukadder Erdönmez, executive board member responsible for liability, cyber and motor. Siebrasse moves into the role after leading the technical and strategic services — long tail division, and previously managing casualty claims. In his new position, he will oversee underwriting operations across HDI Global’s core European markets. Dr Erdönmez praised Siebrasse’s track record, stating that he “has repeatedly demonstrated that he can apply his extensive experience in corporate insurance with strategic foresight and energy to significantly contribute to our organisation’s success.” Dr Nef succeeds Siebrasse in his previous role and brings over a decade of experience in insurance analytics, most recently as head of risk consulting and analytics for the EMEA region at Swiss Re. His background includes delivering data-driven solutions to enhance profitability, growth strategies and technical underwriting performance across the corporate and commercial sector. Commenting on his appointment, Dr Nef highlighted HDI Global’s industrial expertise and focus on complex risk. “I am very much looking forward to sharing my perspectives and actively shaping underwriting excellence in the long-tail lines,” he said. Dr Erdönmez adds: “With his extensive experience in corporate insurance, analytical skills, strategic thinking, and leadership experience, he will be an excellent driver of our continued journey towards underwriting excellence.” The leadership reshuffle follows Mark Appleton’s interim stewardship of HDI Global’s local liability units, a role he held since March 2025. The company thanked Appleton for his contribution to the ongoing development of its liability portfolio.
