OCIA confirms board appointments

The Oklahoma Captive Insurance Association (OCIA) has confirmed its new leadership team and board appointments following recent elections, with Renea Louie of Sotera Global Management named president and chairwoman for the 2025–2026 term. Louie is joined on the executive team by Matt Moore of Cameron Group Services as vice president and vice chairman, Blake Kerr of Helio Risk as treasurer, and Angela Ables of Kerr, Irvine, Rhodes & Ables as secretary. Blake Kerr was newly elected to the board, while Angela Ables was re-elected for a further three-year term. The association also paid tribute to outgoing president Heather McClure and Donald Ashwood, who now transitions to immediate past president. Both were thanked for their contributions to OCIA’s strategic direction and advocacy efforts. Ables, a founding member of OCIA and a recognised leader in regulatory and compliance matters, brings nearly 40 years of experience in insurance law, including time as Oklahoma’s Deputy Insurance Commissioner and Assistant Attorney General. Kerr, a CPA and co-founder of Helio Risk, provides captive management and risk consulting services across the US and internationally. He also holds the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation and serves on various state and industry boards. “As we look to the future, OCIA is confident in the continued leadership and expertise of its board as the association pursues strategic growth, advocate for our members, and foster innovation in the captive insurance industry,” said Louie. In parallel with its board changes, OCIA has launched its annual call for committee volunteers. Members are encouraged to join working groups focused on legislation, marketing, education, finance, and website development to support the association’s mission and upcoming initiatives. OCIA also reaffirmed its active role in the Western Regional Captive Insurance Conference (WRCIC), which brings together captive professionals from across the US. The 2026 WRCIC will return to Las Vegas from 19–22 April, with OCIA continuing to represent Oklahoma on the regional stage.
