HDI Global has integrated its Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) capabilities at executive board level, underscoring the strategic importance of risk finance and captive-aligned solutions within its global offering. The move follows the continued development of HDI Enablers, the firm’s dedicated risk finance division launched in August 2022. The unit will now fall under the leadership of Dr Dirk Höring, board member responsible for property, marine, engineering insurance and HDI Risk Consulting. HDI Enablers specialises in structured and parametric (re)insurance, including captive-compatible solutions such as virtual captives, captive stop loss and affinity-linked ART products. Its elevation to board-level oversight reflects the growing role of alternative risk financing tools in helping corporate clients address increasingly complex and volatile exposures. Since its launch, HDI Enablers has expanded its capabilities and client base across Europe, recently adding two new executives to meet rising demand for customised ART solutions. The unit also collaborates closely with external partners, such as its recent joint initiative with Descartes Underwriting to launch parametric earthquake coverage for the Japanese market. By aligning risk finance more closely with its core business, HDI Global aims to deliver flexible, forward-looking risk transfer solutions that support clients in strengthening resilience and optimising captive strategies.
