Arch Capital Group has promoted Ondine Bourrut Lacouture to active underwriter of Arch Syndicate 1955 at Lloyd’s, succeeding Simon Williams, who has held the role since Arch acquired the syndicate in 2019. Bourrut Lacouture steps into the position following a period of significant expansion for Syndicate 1955. Under Arch’s ownership, its stamp capacity has more than tripled, supported by a disciplined focus on cycle management and portfolio optimisation. The syndicate is now a well-diversified and profitable platform for Arch and its third-party capital providers. Simon Williams will remain with the firm as chief strategy and distribution officer for Arch Insurance International, a role he has held since 2018.
