Zurich Insurance Group is set to acquire BOXX Insurance, a Canadian-headquartered cyber insurtech offering combined insurance and digital protection products. BOXX will continue to operate as a standalone entity following the transaction. The company provides services across five continents through its Cyberboxx range, which includes products for businesses, households and individuals. Zurich and BOXX have worked together since 2021, and the acquisition will formalise their partnership. Cara Morton, CEO of Zurich Global Ventures, says: “BOXX’s digital-first, service-led approach will help us further enhance customer engagement and provide integrated solutions that make people's everyday life easier.” Vishal Kundi, CEO and co-founder of BOXX, says the acquisition will support the company’s plans for further development. “Becoming part of Zurich provides us with the resources and global reach to accelerate our mission,” he says. “Digital usage is so ingrained in our daily lives,” Kundi adds. “Our team continues to look for new ways to build digital resilience by integrating cyber coverages and services.” The acquisition follows recent developments at BOXX, including expansion into the US, partnerships in Europe, India and Australia, and the launch of Cyberboxx Assist.
