Cheryl Baker steps down as Stellantis risk head

Cheryl Baker has stepped down from her role as head of North American risk management at Stellantis after nearly three years with the global automotive group. Her move follows a two-decade career in corporate risk management and broking, including senior roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Marsh. Baker joined Stellantis in October 2022 and led the North American risk team from its Auburn Hills base, focusing on risk financing and captive strategies across the company. Before that, she spent over a decade at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where she managed professional liability, cyber risks, corporate claims and the use of captive insurance. She also spent more than 13 years at Marsh, most recently as assistant vice-president in Detroit. Baker says she remains active in the risk and captive insurance community, continuing her work with the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) and the Amplify Women initiative. “I am incredibly grateful to my amazing team and the leadership at Stellantis — thank you for the support, collaboration, and great work throughout my time there,” she adds. “For now, I am taking some time to recharge and enjoy time with family and friends as I prepare for this exciting next chapter.”
