FERMA appoints Cotelle as next President

The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has appointed Philippe Cotelle as its next president. Cotelle currently serves as a FERMA board member and holds the positions of head of cyber insurance management and head of insurance risk management at Airbus Defence and Space. He will officially assume the presidency on 24 October, following the conclusion of the FERMA Seminar 2025 in Zurich. Cotelle succeeds Charlotte Hedemark, who completes her two-year term as president. He brings more than two decades of experience in risk management, having joined Airbus Defence and Space in 2014 before stepping into his current dual role in 2017. Prior to Airbus, he held senior risk roles at EADS Astrium Division and served as senior space risk underwriter at SCOR. In addition to his FERMA responsibilities, Cotelle also sits on the board of the French risk management association AMRAE. FERMA also announces the election of four new board members: Ulrich Adamheit from Electrolux Group, Tadas Cilcius from Kashimi, Christian Jens Fuchsenthaler from Daimler Truck, and Luis Lancha Vázquez from SENER Group. Annemarie Schouw from Tata Steel Europe is re-elected to the board. Hedemark says the newly elected board reflects the breadth of talent and experience across Europe’s risk management community. “Each individual brings a unique risk perspective and decades of experience in their respective fields,” Hedemark notes. Cotelle says he is “deeply honoured” to be elected president, adding: “Today, the Federation holds an unprecedented position in representing and championing the interests of the European risk management community at both EU and international levels. “Our mission — to embed risk management into the core of every organisation’s business model and culture — remains central to all we do.”
