Registration opens for TxCIA annual conference

Registration for the Texas Captive Insurance Association’s (TxCIA) annual conference is open. The event will take place from 8-9 October at AT&T Hotel and Conference Centre, Austin. The conference aims to bring together captive owners, service providers, and captive regulators for educational discussions combined with business opportunities. The agenda features various panel discussions and sessions, including those entitled: Captive 101; Captives: A Risk Manager Perspective; Traps and Treasure Hunts — Navigating Captive Insurance Taxes; and Harnessing the Power of Data — Policies and Claims to Captive Management. In 2023, Texas licensed seven captives, bringing the total number in the jurisdiction to 77. The state first introduced captive legislation in 2013, with 13 captives formed by the end of 2014.
