Evolin launches Casualty division with new hires

Evolin Broking has launched its Casualty division with three appointments. Kalani Settle-Rhodes is hired as head of Casualty. Based in London, she will report to Chris Baulf, managing director. Settle-Rhodes joins Evolin from Bowring Marsh, where she was an international casualty broker for more than eight years. Prior to that, she spent 14 years on the underwriting side at Aviva, focusing on complex commercial and high-networth businesses. In addition, the company names Shelly Leake as senior broker and Oliver Hutchins as account executive. Both will be based in London and report to Settle-Rhodes. Leake has extensive experience in broking, particularly in the casualty market, having previously worked on the International Casualty team at Marsh. Hutchins has more than 17 years of industry experience, holding roles in both broking and underwriting. Commenting on the move, Baulf says: “Understanding and adapting to our clients’ needs is where Evolin stands out. There is immense opportunity in the casualty market right now, and bringing in this experienced team, led by Kalani, will allow us to capitalise on this.” Settle-Rhodes adds: “Casualty has the unique perspective of looking at the human effect and cost of any incident that may give rise to a claim. I am always looking for the solution to how we can best protect a business, focussing on presenting clients as an entity that deserves consideration, regardless of appetite, volatility, and general market bias.”
