Apollo has named Carl Day as deputy chief underwriting officer (CUO), with his tenure set to begin in late 2024. Day will be involved in developing the strategic direction of underwriting at Apollo, reporting to James Slaughter, group CUO. Bringing over 28 years of experience in the London insurance market, he will join Apollo from CNA Hardy, where he is currently an active underwriter for Syndicate 382. Prior to that, he worked as an energy class underwriter at Hiscox for 13 years.
