Hamilton Insurance Group has promoted Wilfred Chin to the newly created role of group chief actuary. Chin will report to Alex Baker, group chief risk officer, and have group-wide responsibility for reserving and pricing actuarial teams across Hamilton’s underwriting platforms, including Hamilton Global Specialty, Hamilton Select and Hamilton Re. He joined the firm in 2023 as chief actuary at Hamilton Global Specialty and previously worked at Tokio Marine Kiln as group head of reserving and chief actuary. Commenting on the new appointment, Baker says: “As a newly public company, establishing a group chief actuary role signifies our steadfast focus on disciplined risk management and actuarial practices. “His elevation into this role will help ensure that our operations remain resilient in the face of a rapidly evolving risk landscape.”
