Aon has appointed Isabel Blazquez Solano as CEO of Brazil, and Daniela Diaz as head of Peru, within its Reinsurance Solutions business. In her new role, Solano will report to Reinsurance Solutions’ Latin America CEO, Paula Ferreira. Based in Rio De Janeiro, Solano will be responsible for Aon’s Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro offices. She has more than 13 years of underwriting and leadership experience across EMEA and Latin America. She joined Aon in October 2022 from Brazilian reinsurer IRB(Re), where she served as chief underwriting officer. Diaz will lead Reinsurance Solutions in the Peru market as part of the Andean subregion. In her new role, she will continue to drive Aon’s position as an agnostic capital advisor and encourage the utilisation and growth of both facultative and treaty business. She has more than 15 years of insurance industry experience. Diaz joined Aon nine years ago as a reinsurance broker before being promoted to senior broker for property and power for the Andean region, and then to facultative manager for Peru. Commenting on the appointments, Ferreira says: “Isabel brings a wealth of reinsurance industry experience to her new role. As reinsurance CEO of Brazil, she will continue to promote a culture of growth and collaboration.” She adds: “Daniela has constantly delivered positive results for our facultative business and has a vast technical and commercial background. Brazil and Peru remain key areas of focus for Aon, and we continue to invest in our local capabilities to shape better business decisions for clients.”
