Cowbell has launched ‘Prime One’, an AI-powered cyber insurance programme in the UK. It has also appointed Catherine Aleppo as UK sales director. Cowbell provides global cyber insurance and launched in the UK earlier this year. ‘Prime One’ is tailored to SMEs and mid-market businesses. The data-driven technology offers underwriting and allows brokers to customise robust cyber policies for unique risk exposures that cover diverse cyber incidents, including email scams, ransomware and social engineering. Aleppo brings more than 18 years of insurance industry experience to the role with specialisms in cyber risk insurance. She most recently served as head of UK SME cyber at Howden. Prior to that, she led the cyber department at UK-based insurance broker Aston Lark. ‘More than half (54 per cent) of SMEs in the UK have experienced some form of cyber-attack in 2022, up from 39 per cent in 2020’, according to Cowbell. Aleppo comments: “UK-based SME businesses have been slower to adopt cyber insurance than their US counterparts, due to a lack of awareness and understanding of their cyber exposures. With this in mind, addressing the need to protect UK SMEs sits at the heart of the Cowbell proposition.”
