Aspen Insurance Holdings (Aspen) has appointed John Welch as chief underwriting officer for reinsurance. In his new role, Welch will lead Aspen’s reinsurance division. He will be responsible for designing and delivering the segment’s underwriting strategy. Based in Connecticut, Welch will report to Christian Dunleavy, group chief underwriting officer. He will also join the group’s executive committee. Welch has more than 30 years of experience in global reinsurance.
