Specialty broker EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants has partnered with DOD SkillBridge to give active military personnel opportunities for insurance industry training and experience. The U.S. Department of Defence-managed DOD SkillBridge programme enables service members to gain valuable work experience as they transition into the civilian job market. EPIC’s SkillBridge programme will pair participants with members of the EPIC Veterans Employee Resource Group which is made up of veterans from multiple branches of the military. As part of the initiative, EPIC is the only broker today offering this training programme, licensing and job interviews for veterans pursuing a career in the industry. Heather Malone, head of talent acquisition at EPIC, comments: “Veterans make up an invaluable part of the EPIC team, and this programme allows us to create even more avenues to support service members and set them up for successful careers in the insurance industry.”
