Legacy reinsurer RiversStone International has appointed Heather Thomas and Jose Vazquez as independent non-executive directors of its UK subsidiaries. Thomas has more than 20 years of executive board level experience in the financial services and insurance sectors. She currently serves as non-executive director of IQUW Syndicate Management. Vazquez has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. For the last 10 years he has served as chief risk officer at Direct Line Group. Vazquez has also held senior insurance roles at HSBC Group and Zurich Insurance Group. Vazquez is a non-executive director at Allianz Holdings. Commenting on the UK expansion, Luke Tanzer, chief executive officer of RiverStone International, says: “They are both highly experienced non-executive directors, and their advisory capabilities will prove invaluable to RiverStone International as we continue to build on our leading position within the global legacy market.”
