Skyward reshuffles leadership in captives and programmes

Texas-based Skyward Specialty Insurance Group (Skyward), has made leadership changes as part of an effort to further invest in its captives and programmes divisions. Ryan Burke will lead Skyward’s programmes division following his promotion to vice president, specialty programmes. Since joining the company in 2021 as underwriting manager, Burke has contributed to the development of the company’s programmes business. Prior to that, he held various underwriting and leadership positions at Swiss Re, the Zurich-headquartered reinsurance company. Before Swiss Re he held a tenure at Travelers, the insurance provider. He also served at RT Specialty, a distributor of specialty insurance products. In addition, Skyward has promoted Amy Klatt to senior vice president, captives and programmes. Klatt has more than 20 years of claims experience. She joined Skyward in 2019 as claims director. Before joining Skyward, Klatt served at Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies for more than eight years, in the workers compensation and catastrophic department. Klatt also held senior roles at Travelers and Gallagher Basset, a UK-based insurance agency. Commenting on the team’s reshuffle, Kirby Hill (pictured), Skyward’s president of industry solutions, programmes and captives, says: “Under Ryan and Amy's leadership, we will accelerate the innovation in the services and the resources our existing and prospective partners can access.”
