Adele Gale appointed chair of GIIA

Adele Gale has been appointed as chair of the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA). Gale, who was previously deputy chair at the association, replaces Mark Elliott, CEO of Humboldt Re. Gale has more than 15 years’ experience in the captive and commercial (re)insurance industries. She currently serves as head of ILS at Robus Group, a role she has held since 2019. Gale had a two-year tenure at Artex Risk Solutions as part of the ILS team from 2017 to 2019. Before that, she was a client service director at Aon from 2009 to 2017. James Stewart, client services director at Artex Risk Solutions has been named as GIIA’s new deputy chair. Commenting on the news via LinkedIn, GIIA said: “We are delighted to announce that Adele Gale has been appointed as the chair of GIIA, and James Stewart as the deputy chair. They will lead the association’s committees and working groups to support the promotion of Guernsey, develop new products, provide learning opportunities and lobby for change. “This year marks the 40th anniversary of GIIA and recently celebrated 100 years since the establishment of the first captive in Guernsey. This year we look to celebrate 25 years since the creation of the PCC legislation in Guernsey. It adds: “We would like to thank Mark Elliott for his leadership over the last two years and wish him luck in his new role as chair of the Market Development Committee.”
