The Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association (PARIMA) has appointed Annacel Natividad as its next chairperson following a vote at the board’s general committee meeting. Natividad will take on the role on 1 January 2024, succeeding current and founding chairman Franck Baron, who announced in January that he will be stepping down from his position after 10 years. Natividad has been an active member of the PARIMA board since 2013, becoming one of the drivers of growth for the Association in the Philippines, PARIMA says. At PARIMA, Natividad has led several events and discussions as a moderator, providing insights and perspectives to the risk and insurance management community. Additionally, she is actively participating in the Association’s mentorship programme, where she shares her extensive expertise and experience to guide and mentor young professionals in the field. She is currently chief finance officer of Pilmico Foods Corporation, an Aboitiz company, and chief risk officer of the food and agribusiness of the Aboitiz Group. During her career, Natividad has gained more than 16 years’ experience in risk management and specialises in a number of avenues including insurance management, enterprise compliance and accounting. Natividad has been with the Aboitiz Group since 1998, where she has held a number of leadership positions. Initially, she joined as a financial planning manager and later became chief finance officer of Super Ferry, a passenger shipping business of the Aboitiz Group. Commenting on her new role, Natividad says: “The work Franck and the team have put in the last 10 years has been remarkable. A key component is to ensure sustainability within the organisation, which Franck has already begun, and to strengthen capabilities internally.” says Natividad. “I am confident that we can continue to build on Franck's legacy and advance PARIMA's vision of promoting the risk management profession and fostering a strong risk management culture in the region. Together, we will identify the critical pillars and objectives that will guide us over the next three to five years to achieve our goals.” Baron adds: “What a great opportunity for PARIMA to be led now by an Asian figure of Anne’s stature. She fits the role of chairperson of PARIMA perfectly and I am extremely honoured to pass the baton to her.”
