Christopher LaDelfa joins Xchange Benefits

Managing general underwriter Xchange Benefits, an Ambac Financial Group company, has appointed Christopher LaDelfa as senior vice president and head of its new captive solutions unit. He will be based in New Jersey. The new division uses Xchange Benefits’ wholly owned protected cell company Distribution Re, domiciled in Tennessee. The captive insures accident and health risks, primarily through high-deductible medical stop loss plans. LaDelfa has almost two decades of experience in the captives industry, and joins Xchange benefits from Berkley Accident and Health where he was director of programme management. Prior to this, he spent 14 years with insurance firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. as a sales executive and then as wholesale distribution lead. Commenting on his appointment, LaDelfa says: “I am honored to join the Xchange leadership team and leverage my unique employee benefits and group captive experience to help grow and support the captive segment at [the company]. Peter McGuire and his team are proven professionals and Xchange is well positioned for continued growth and success.” Peter McGuire, CEO of Xchange Benefits, states: “I am pleased that Chris, with his nearly 20 years of stop loss industry experience, integrity and reputation, has agreed to join the Xchange team. He has been immersed in the delivery of captive solutions for a number of years and so is more than equipped to grow this important capability for Xchange.”
