BMS Re adds to Bermuda office

Specialty reinsurance broker BMS Re (BMS) has made two appointments to its Bermuda division. Chris McDowell joins as CEO of the Bermuda division, and Mario Benetti as head of casualty treaty and actuarial. McDowell has more than 30 years in the reinsurance industry, and joins BMS from Gallagher Re Bermuda where he served as CEO. Before this, he was CEO of global re speciality in Bermuda for Aon Benfield. Binetti also has over 30 years’ experience in reinsurance. Prior to this role, he served as head of casualty treaty underwriting and actuarial for Everest Re Bermuda. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief actuary at JRG Re Bermuda. Adam Mullan, executive chairman of BMS Re Bermuda, says: “Following our launch of BMS Re Bermuda in Q4 2021, these hires signify our commitment to building an exceptional team.
