SRS names head of Luxembourg actuarial services

Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) has appointed Bertrand Segui as head of actuarial services for the insurance company manager’s Luxembourg operations. In his new role, Segui is responsible for all actuarial matters of SRS clients domiciled in Luxembourg, including but not limited to preparation of Solvency II reporting and compliance, and communication with regulators. Segui is part of the firm’s European risk consulting team to provide actuarial advice and support to existing SRS clients. He reports to managing director of European finance and compliance, Maxime Schons. Segui previously served as chief actuarial officer of risk and reinsurance solutions, where he was responsible for leading a team of actuaries in navigating Solvency II requirements, liaising with auditors, and reviewing applications submitted to local regulators. He was also the actuarial key function holder of a portfolio of insurance and reinsurance captives domiciled in Luxembourg. Commenting on the appointment, Schons says: “I am delighted to have Bertrand join the SRS Europe team in Luxembourg. His pan-European experience, modelling actuarial skills and deep knowledge of Solvency II reporting requirements as we build out the teams will benefit all domiciles.” “Bertrand will work closely with our actuaries in offices in Ireland, Switzerland, Malta and Guernsey to further develop the firm’s European actuarial capabilities and ongoing projects initiatives, IFRS 17 amongst others,” he adds.
