Sedgwick adds to board of directors

Sedgwick has appointed Charles Brooks (pictured) and Christine LaSala as independent members of the firm’s board of directors. As members of the board at the technology-enabled risk, benefits and integrated business solutions provider, Brooks and LaSala will be responsible for providing strategic counsel based on their respective career experience. Their advice will inform strategy, change management, mergers and acquisitions, leadership diversity, financial and client performance, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment. Brooks currently serves as chief information officer and executive vice president of operations at insurance provider Kemper Corporation, where he specialises in property, casualty, life and health insurance. He previously held operations roles at ACE Group, Aetna and Travelers, where he gained experience in strategic planning, operations and system management for the financial services sector. LaSala currently holds the position of senior independent director of the board at Beazley Group, as well as chair of the remuneration committee. She served as CEO and president of WTC Captive Insurance Company for a decade, before which she held a variety of management and client leadership roles within the insurance industry. Commenting on the board appointments, Dave North, executive chairman at Sedgwick, says: “We are excited to welcome Charles and Christine to our board of directors and know that their proven leadership capabilities and deep knowledge will be tremendous assets to the governance of our organisation.” “As we continue to focus on growth and high-level service to clients all across the globe, I look forward to working alongside two of the most dynamic executives in the insurance services sector,” he adds.
