Guy Carpenter unveils insurtech Centre of Excellence

Guy Carpenter has launched an insurtech Centre of Excellence (COE) to administer a comprehensive suite of solutions to reinsurance carriers and managing general agents (MGAs). As the risk and reinsurance segment of Marsh McLennan, Guy Carpenter’s COE will provide various reinsurance broking, advisory and analytical services (including market-entry analysis, portfolio creation, actuarial assistance, rating advisory and capital modelling) via state-of-the-art technology-driven platforms. The insurtech COE will consolidate Guy Carpenter’s existing ventures into the insurtech space, which began with the launch of GC Genesis in 2018. John Trace, CEO, North America, Guy Carpenter, explains: “The insurtech COE positions Guy Carpenter at the forefront of the development of the tech-empowered insurance market.” “By bringing together an extensive team of sector experts exclusively dedicated to this rapidly evolving environment, our aim is to provide the most relevant services and solutions, coupled with market insight and intelligence to support industry innovation.” Will Garland, president, COEs, Guy Carpenter, adds: “The establishment of the insurtech COE is a clear next step for Guy Carpenter. It will not only help us further strengthen the partnerships we have developed with numerous carriers and MGAs at the leading edge of insurtech, but also open up considerable new opportunities to grow our presence in this highly relevant space.” In addition to the COE, Guy Carpenter will extend its partnership with fintech analyst firm Celent to offer technology research and advisory services to global insurers and financial institutions, effective 1 January 2022.
