Vantage expands healthcare and excess casualty businesses

Vantage Group Holdings has launched healthcare and excess casualty insurance businesses in Bermuda and the US as part of the continued expansion of its insurance platform. The reinsurance partner was originally established late last year to write reinsurance risk through its Bermuda company Vantage Risk, and has since expanded its offering to select insurance products through the US-based Vantage Risk Speciality Insurance Company. The firm’s excess casualty and healthcare insurance business in Bermuda is led by Denise Watkins, who previously served as senior vice president at Sompo International, Bermuda. Watkins is responsible for overseeing the provision of customised insurance and captive reinsurance solutions in the sectors of transportation, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and more. The US healthcare team is led by Ray Pernsteiner, with Anna Rockers, Dmitry Burtman and Nick Williams serving as regional vice presidents for central and western, southeast, and northeast, respectively. Vantage’s US healthcare business administers healthcare excess liability coverage for both insurance and reinsurance of captives. Greg Hendrick, CEO of Vantage, explains: “At a time when risk is gaining complexity and the need for excess casualty and healthcare capacity is increasing, the ability for Vantage to offer up to US$15 million of excess capacity in these lines of business has been a welcome increase in market capacity.”
