Fidelis Insurance has appointed Charles Mathias and Phillip Murfet as group director of underwriting and group chief risk officer respectively. In the newly created role of group director of underwriting, Mathias will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of underwriting data, systems, processes and reporting, as well as supporting the CEOs of insurance and reinsurance. Having previously served as group portfolio manager and head of catastrophe modelling at the insurance firm, Murfet will assume Mathias’ previous role of group chief risk officer. Fidelis provides speciality insurance and reinsurance solutions to the aviation, marine, energy, terrorism and contigency sectors.
