Hylant acquires employee benefits agency

Hylant has acquired Cobalt Benefits to expand its employee benefits services offering. The Indiana-based agency specialises in self-funding and traditional medical, dental, vision, life and disability brokerage services. Following the acquisition, insurance brokerage firm Hylant will build on its client services in property and casualty, captive solutions, cybersecurity and personal insurance. Hylant states it plans to expand its Indiana footprint further with additional employees to the regional team in sales, client service, claims and captive services. Mary Whitt, owner and president of Cobalt Benefits, comments: “I am very excited to become a part of the Hylant family, which will allow us to continue to provide personal services to the community with a deeper pocket of resources.” Clay Jennings, regional partnership leader at Hylant Indiana, adds: “We are impressed with the caliber of service Cobalt has provided clients, and we are excited to strengthen the pool of talent who can apply their expertise to provide insurance and business solutions facing organisations.”
