Guy Carpenter adds to MGA business unit

Guy Carpenter has appointed Matt Petka and Riley Underwood as managing director and senior vice president respectively to its GC Access business unit. Effective immediately, the new hires will be part of the senior team at GC Access, which provides managing general agent (MGA) programme business solutions, including carrier and reinsurance transactions, captive support and insurtech expertise. Both will report to Michael Jameson, president of GC Access, on delivering programmes for US-domiciled clients in the MGA sector. In his new role, Petka will be responsible for overseeing solution development and client management at the business unit. He previously served as executive vice president at Willis Re, where he managed the MGA and programme business team. Underwood also joins the risk and reinsurance specialist firm from Willis Re, where he held the position of senior vice president for new account production and account management. Jameson comments: “Matt Petka and Riley Underwood are both seasoned practitioners in the MGA arena who bring depth of market insight that is critical to developing the fully optimised program solutions we deliver for our clients.” John Trace, CEO for North America at Guy Carpenter, adds: “Through the range of services and analytical solutions that GC Access offers, we are helping position our clients to capitalise on expanding opportunities. Our ability to continually attract great talent to our organisation is a further testament to the leading position that we have established.”
