Former Active Captive Management chief compliance officer Dana Sheridan has launched CIRA Solutions, a new consultancy firm based in Los Angeles. The new company focuses on consultancy and advisory services in connection with compliance, insurance policies and programs, risk management, and the structure, operation and regulation of already formed captives. Sheridan, who is founder and principal advisor of the new consultancy business, has 25 years of experience in compliance for various industries, insurance regulatory compliance, insurance best practices, and risk management. She also has experience in handling or managing insurance and claims litigation, underwriting advice and counsel, drafting or advising on policy lines for commercial and captive insurance, drafting various forms of insurance or risk related contracts, and is considered an expert on insurer and captive best practices and insurance industry regulation Prior to the consultancy, Sheridan was deputy general counsel at Acrisure for nearly three years in addition to her role at Active Captive Management. Sheridan started her career in 1995 as an associate attorney at Zelle & Larson/Larson King. Previously, she served as chair of the regulatory sub-committee of the ABA's Captive Committee. She also serves on SIIA’s Captive Task Force and has worked on various Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) committees pertaining to captives.
