Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) has hired Elyse Dandeker as director of accounting services and Stephen Nash as director of insurance services for its newly established office in Guernsey. Dandeker, who starts her new role on 7 June, joins SRS from Willis Towers Watson (WTW) where, for the past five years, she has held the position of account director. At WTW, she was responsible for leading teams in all aspects of captive management as well as providing technical, industry and subject matter expertise and supporting the business from an operational perspective. She has also previously held the position of senior manager at PwC in the Channel Islands, managing teams that specialised in captive insurance and private equity audits. Nash, who starts her new role later this year, joins SRS after 27 years with Artex Risk Solutions (Guernsey) where he held the position of client insurance manager. At Artex, he was primarily accountable for the provision of technical insurance advice and services to a number of captive clients, including those engaged in the global natural resources, international finance, legal and logistics industries. He also ran a protected cell company (PCC) that acted as a commercial reinsurer providing a range of niche reinsurance products to specialist insurers in the UK market. In February, SRS hired Peter Child to lead the new operations in Guernsey. Starting in July, Child will take on the role of managing director of SRS Guernsey Management. The Guernsey operations will be the base from which SRS will manage its expansion into onshore and offshore jurisdictions in Europe. Brady Young, CEO and Chairman of SRS, says: “We are delighted with the response to our arrival in Guernsey. It reinforces our belief that the European market is receptive to a global, independent firm, with strong local expertise, that puts clients first.” He adds: “Our business in Europe is important strategically and financially to SRS and we believe the long-term opportunity is significant.”
