Artex Risk Solutions has appointed Devin O’Brien to vice president of the financial management group for captives, in its North America team. In his new role, O’Brien will continue to be based in Illinois. In December 2019, he relocated to Illinois where he served as group captive financial manager. O’Brien joined Artex in 2016, in the Cayman Islands, as client service manager. He also served as senior associate in the captive insurance practice at PwC Cayman Islands. He started off his career at PKF South Africa as a trainee accountant in 2011 before being promoted as an audit supervisor in 2014. Commenting on O’Brien’s promotion, Chad Kunkel, executive vice-president, group captives, North America for Artex, says: “Devin O'Brien's expertise and work ethic are the perfect combination for the role of vice president, financial management group captives.” “In this role, he is responsible for managing the financials of our group captives. O’Brien works closely with our various captives and our service providers to help them find a better way to help our clients reduce their risk management costs,” he adds. In February, Artex also promoted Ryan Santacrose as assistant vice president, business development.
