Zurich North America Group has hired Sonia Kundi who will join the risk management team as Canada chief risk officer. Based in the firm’s Toronto office, Kundi will report to Colleen Zitt, North America chief risk officer and be a member of her leadership team. Kundi will also be a member of the Zurich Canada executive committee. In her new role, she will support Canada as a partner to local management and will ensure that risk frameworks and controls are in place and executed effectively to mitigate material risk to the organisation. She will lead as a risk champion at various committees and provide management reporting and support the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions risk requirements. Kundi joins Zurich from Aviva Group, where she was a senior enterprise risk management leader with more than 15 years of global insurance experience. She has a proven global track record in both market and group roles in the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia. Kundi is a RIMS certified risk management professional.
