Astaara bolsters team with three appointments

Astaara, an integrated insurance services and risk management advisory business incorporating cyber risk advisory, underwriting and analytics, has hired three new senior members of staff to its team. The new appointments include Victoria Knowles as chief of staff, Asti Rogers as head of operations and Gemma Smyth as head of analytics. Knowles has more than 20 years of experience in administration across the property, public relations and insurance sectors. Her previous roles include national advertising coordinator for a large national real estate company and personal assistant to c-suite executives in a cross-section of industries. Rogers has spent more than 10 years working in the London insurance market, initially in project management before migrating into operations in 2015. Her last three roles have all focused on developing the operation function at new start-ups, including Lloyd’s syndicates and managing general agents. Smyth has worked in catastrophe analytics for Lloyd’s syndicates over the last 10 years. She is experienced in catastrophe modelling, developing methodologies for assessing and aggregating cyber risk in the marine sector. Commenting on the new appointments, Robert Dorey, CEO of maritime cyber risk management and insurance specialists, Astaara, says: ‘We are very lucky to have such a strong team at Astaara, which has seen rapid growth in response to demand.” “The addition of Victoria Knowles, Asti Rogers and Gemma Smyth is a fantastic boost to an already strong team and their skills complement the business and one another perfectly,” Dorey adds.
