Former Oklahoma governor joins eMaxx’s board of directors

eMaxx Assurance Group of Companies has appointed former Oklahoma governor Mary Fallin-Christensen to its board of directors. Fallin-Christensen brings experience from her roles as governor and lieutenant governor of Oklahoma that eMaxx said will align with its focus on delivering insurance and technology solutions to policyholders and members. In 2011, Fallin-Christensen was elected as the first female governor of Oklahoma and was re-elected in 2015. Within that role, her priorities included job growth and retention, government modernisation and streamlining education reform. She served two terms in the Oklahoma House before becoming the first woman to be elected lieutenant governor of Oklahoma in 1994 where she focused her attention on issues affecting job creation and economic development. In 2006, she was elected to the US Congress where she served on committees for small business, transportation, infrastructure, natural resources and armed services. James Townsend, chairman of the eMaxx board of directors and CEO of Townsend Energy, said: “Energy customers need a true partner in the insurance industry especially with potential industry changes and eMaxx is here to serve the industry.” “We are pleased to welcome Mary Fallin-Christensen to the board of directors as she has been a strong supporter of the industry and this strongly aligns with eMaxx’s strategic initiatives moving forward,” he added. Commenting on her new role, Fallin-Christensen noted: “I am very pleased to be joining the board of directors of eMaxx. The company’s support of the energy and transportation industries through technology, insurance and risk management is an important component for economic growth in the US.” Recently, eMaxx appointed Amy Lussier as chief financial officer of eMaxx Assurance Group of Companies.
