Troy University Sorrell College of Business professor Edward Pappanastos has been named scholar-in-residence for Arsenal Insurance Management, according to the official university blog.
The collaboration is aimed at building scholarship, engagement and opportunities for both Troy students and the captive company.
Pappanastos is currently associate chair for the department of risk management and data analytics in the Sorrell College of Business.
He has more than 20 years of experience teaching in the risk management and insurance sector.
Arsenal will be partnering with Pappanastos on several strategic recruitment and educational initiatives throughout the year to cultivate current and prospective risk management and insurance students and increase awareness of the opportunities available in the risk management and insurance industry, including an internship programme hosted by the Alabama Captive Association.
“The risk management and insurance market is consistently growing in opportunity,” Pappanastos commented.
He added: “This collaboration with Arsenal Insurance will create meaningful opportunities for students to learn more about the industry, gain real-world experience, and participate in programmes that could potentially lead to career opportunities.”
Arsenal president Norman Chandler said: “We are excited to have Edward Pappanastos as an asset to the Arsenal Insurance team. His extensive knowledge in the risk management and insurance industry and honourable reputation in the educational community make him the ideal person to bring in as a scholar-in-residence with Arsenal.”
