Leadership changes at ARA Insurance

Phil Kelling, president and CEO of American Rental Association (ARA) Insurance, Kansas City, will retire at the end of February.

Succeeding Kelling is John Kennedy, the current chief financial officer at ARA. He joined the firm in August 2017 and has 10 years of insurance experience having served as the corporate controller for IPFS Corporation.

Kelling has worked at ARA Insurance since 1997 and during his tenure led the startup of ARA Insurance Limited, a captive insurance company, developing a rental-specific risk management programme to improve insurance coverages.

Commenting on his career at ARA Insurance, Kelling said: “It has been a pleasure to serve ARA Insurance for the last 22 years. The organisation is in a very good position and I foresee a great future ahead for the industry and the members we serve.”

“I’m grateful to those who served in volunteer roles to help guide the programme work of ARA Insurance and make it the industry-leading insurance provider that it is today,” he adds.

Kennedy commented: “I look forward to the challenge of building on our successes from Kelling’s tenure and continuing to improve in all aspects of our operation. Our strategic core purpose is centred around serving ARA members and striving for excellence in all of our programme work.”
