Artex promotes Peter Child

Artex Risk Solutions has promoted Peter Child to head of European operations and managing director overseeing Guernsey, Malta, Gibraltar and London offices.

Child will continue his role as managing director of the Guernsey office, reporting to Nick Heys, CEO of Artex International.

With 20 years of insurance experience, Child has also worked at Euler Hermes and the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, before returning to the management of insurance programmes at Aon.

Child started at Artex (previously named Heritage before Artex acquired the firm in 2014) in 2007 as director and was promoted to managing director of the Guernsey office in 2016.

Commenting on his promotion, Child said: “I am excited to be taking up this position at a time of great opportunity for the insurance management sector. The return of the hard insurance market means that interest is snowballing in all of our core segments: captives, insurance linked-securities, and commercial carriers, across all of our European offices.”

“I look forward to contributing to the continued growth of Artex as our talented team works together to harness current opportunities and to shape the future of what an insurer manager can be.”

Heys added: “Peter Child has been an integral part of our management team for more than a decade and his leadership has been key to our success in Guernsey. Extending Child’s responsibility to our other European locations positions us for continued growth in the marketplace and I am excited to see where he will lead us.”
