Tysers has hired Christina Allen as a director of the firm’s Bermuda business.
Allen has over 15 years of insurance experience predominantly in the financial and professional lines market in both Canada and Bermuda.
Most recently, she worked as vice president at Paragon Brokers Bermuda.
Allen will report to Richard Tomkins, managing director of Tysers Bermuda business.
Richard Tomkins said, “I’m excited to be joined by Christina Allen to help build the Tysers Bermuda office. She will bring her experience and independent connections to help grow this office, working in conjunction with our main wholesale units in London.”
The appointment follows an announcement made in August of Tysers opening up a Bermuda office.
Tomkins relocated from his role as managing director of reinsurance at Tysers London to take on his role in Bermuda.
Tysers already has a presence in the captive market and the binding authority sectors. By locating to Bermuda, the firm suggested it will enhance its connections in these sectors.
At the time of the office opening, Tomkins said: “Now being in Bermuda, I have strong captive connections which will help me break more into the captive reinsurance space.”
