EY appoints Frank Mahoney for the US-West

Ernst & Young (EY) appointed Frank Mahoney as region managing partner for the US-West.

Mahoney succeeds Kay Matthews and Randy Cain, region managing partners of the West and Southwest, respectively. Both Kay and Randy retired in June 2019 after more than 35 years with the firm.

Mahoney will be responsible for driving market leadership, developing and retaining talent, creating high-performing teams and providing exceptional client service for a regional practice of 10,000 professionals spanning 18 states and 27 offices.

He also serves as a senior advisory partner for several of the region’s largest clients and continues to serve on the US executive committee and the Americas operating executive.

He formerly served as the Americas vice chair for assurance, where he led 20,000 audits, financial and reporting professionals.

He also led the digital transformation of the US firm’s audit practice and oversaw the launch of EY Canvas and EY Helix, leading-edge audit technologies that respond to the evolving needs of businesses, regulators and investors

Mahoney said: “I’m excited to lead the US-West Region and build on the significant growth that EY has achieved.”

“In our current transformative age, the pace of change has never been faster and embracing transformation and helping our clients navigate it has never been more vital.”

He added: “There is significant opportunity here, and we look forward to making a positive impact with the companies and communities we serve.”
