Horseshoe Group names LeMoine as new head of insurance management

Horseshoe Group has appointed Fred LeMoine as its new head of insurance management, succeeding Nigel Godfrey.

Godfrey, the current group CFO and executive vice president of insurance management, will retire on 30 April but will continue to serve as a consultant to Horseshoe and as the chairman of the Group’s UK operations.

LeMoine, who joined Horseshoe at the beginning of the year, will replace Godfrey as head of insurance management but not as group CFO–a role which is yet to be filled.

LeMoine has more than 20 years of experience in the Bermuda insurance and reinsurance market, including expertise in captive management and insurance-linked securities (ILS).

Prior to joining Horseshoe, he was CFO and COO of Aspen Bermuda, was vice president and account executive at Marsh Management Services in Bermuda, and served as a director on multiple insurance company boards.

Andre Perez, CEO and founder of Horseshoe, said he was delighted to welcome LeMoine to the group.

He explained: “Fred LeMoine tremendous depth and breadth of reinsurance industry experience, along with his leadership skills, will be critical strengths, as we continuously strive to add value to the clients we serve and chart our insurance management strategy in the years to come.”

Perez noted that though it was difficult for him to see Godfrey retire he was pleased the Horseshoe veteran would continue to be involved with the company.

He said: “Words are certainly not enough to express my profound gratitude to Nigel Godfrey for his remarkable contribution to the company and our clients.”

“His wisdom, dedication, and leadership have been instrumental to the success we enjoy today.”

“Through the talent of our people, and the quality of our client service and innovative solutions, Horseshoe is well positioned to realise the next stage of growth and I am confident LeMoine will contribute significantly to it.”

Godfrey commented: “It has been an incredibly satisfying journey, working all these years with Andre Perez to grow Horseshoe from a two-man shop to an agile and leading global financial services provider.”

“I think we have been successful in finding my perfect successor in Fred LeMoine; having worked closely with LeMoine over the last several months, I feel very comfortable in handing over the reins to him.”

“I have personally ensured a seamless transition and I look forward to watching Horseshoe continue reaching new heights.”
