Hanover Stone appoint new risk advisors

Hanover Stone Partners (HSP) have appointed Michael Scott and Philip Stevens as senior risk advisors.

Scott and Stevens also join the leadership team of CaptiveGuard, HSPs specialist captive insurance governance and advisory practice.

Stevens is also principal of captive advisory service Rowayton Risk Consulting, and joins HSP with nearly three decades of experience in the captive industry.

Scott, an attorney at Illinois-based law firm Allison and Mosby-Scott, has more than 20 years experience in risk management and insurance, in addition to substantial captive experience.

HSP CEO and founder, John Kelly, said: "Although the commercial insurance market has been relatively stable for several years, the spate of natural disasters in the US and other parts of the world this year has prompted some risk managers to look more closely at the roles of captive insurers in their overall insurance program.”

He explained: “To help with their evaluations, we are continuing to expand the capabilities of our specialty practice focusing on captive governance and performance.

“Michael Scott and Philip Stevens bring deep expertise in captive insurance and we are pleased to welcome them to our team.”
