Dennis Harwick says farewell to the captive industry

Dennis Harwick, president of the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA), thanked the captive insurance industry as he prepares to step down from the role into retirement.

At the 2017 CICA International Conference in San Diego, Harwick listed many who he had the “pleasure” to work with during his 12 years in the role.

Harwick said: “This is the last time I’ll be up on stage. I want to take a minute just to share a few things with you.”

“My goal was to make partners throughout the industry to make CICA a domicile-neutral association for the whole captive world and you can’t do it alone. I have been blessed with hardworking administration staff.”

“I thank you for the honour of having served as your president and I appreciate it.”

It was revealed last week that Dan Towle, director of financial services for Vermont, will be taking on the role as the new CICA president.

Towle will take over from the retiring Dennis Harwick on 24 April. He will take part in his first CICA board meeting on 9 June.
